Abstract

Dr. Justin Rice: This is a case of a male in his late 20s who presented to urgent care with a genital rash. One week earlier, he had noticed increased sensitivity to his urethral meatus, glans penis, and scrotum the day after unprotected sex with a female partner. Three days later, he awoke with a severe retro-orbital headache, fatigue, photophobia, and neck stiffness. He also developed a subjective fever and diffuse joint and muscle aches. After 3 days of these symptoms he found information online leading him to believe he might have a sexually transmitted infection.
