Abstract
We propose a new type of the crotch to be installed in the 6 GeV storage ring for Synchrotron Radiation Source (SRS) which is under consideration at RIKEN. The feature of this crotch is to have a structure in which particles that have relation to vacuum pressure such as photo‐electrons produced by photons, reflected photons, and photon‐induced outgassing from the crotch are efficiently trapped. Photon‐induced outgassing is pumped locally with three different pumps: a lumped non‐evaporable getter (NEG) pump, a sputter‐ion pump (SIP), and a titanium‐sublimation pump (TSP). This paper describes details of the crotch structure and temperature distributions on the basis of three dimensional finite element analysis. The pumping system for the crotch is also presented.
