Abstract

Conceptual data systems shall serve with tools for exploring conceptually information which is stored in data bases. Ideas for conceptual data systems have been already developed in [3] by methods of formal concept analysis. This approach is extended to an elaborated system which allows a rich browsing through all available information. The basic tools are conceptual scales (cf. [2]) which preform the information so that always part of it can be visualized by nested line diagrams of concept lattices. The browsing procedure is performed with respect to a chosen sequence of conceptual scales by zooming back and forth in the given conceptual hierarchy. The implementation of a conceptual data system is based on a conceptual file which is structured according to requirements of effective browsing procedures and easy maintenance of the system.
