Abstract
The second part of this review paper summarizes the approaches and concepts that promise an integrative perspective of risk. The approaches covered here include the concept of social amplification, a risk taxonomy and classification of the German Advisory Council on Global Change (WBGU), and the Risk Governance Framework of the International Risk Governance Council (IRGC) in Geneva. The review concludes with a discussion of the contributions of each of these approaches to the academic understanding, as well as the practical management of risks.
