Abstract

Based on the analysis of modern doctrinal sources, the author outlines the following among the features of advocacy self-government bodies: the main goal is to ensure the realization of the right of advocates to independently decide on the organization and activities of advocacy in the manner prescribed by law; focus on the tasks of advocacy self-government; are components of a holistic system with pronounced internal and external connections of horizontal and vertical nature; are subjects of public law relations; are non-governmental non-profit professional organizations; operate in the forms of advocacy self-government provided by law.
 It is substantiated that the functions of the bar self-government bodies are: representation of the Bar of Ukraine in relations with public administration bodies, their officials and officials, other subjects of legal relations and international organizations; protection of professional rights of lawyers and guarantee of advocacy; providing the state and citizens with a highly professional bar; ensuring transparency of advocacy and openness of information about lawyers of Ukraine; subsidiary formation of separate bodies of state power; disposal of financial and property resources of advocacy self-government; ensuring the provision of quality and timely free legal aid by lawyers. other functions provided by the legislation and statutory acts of the bar self-government bodies.
 It has been proved that advocacy self-government bodies are non-governmental non-profit professional organizations that operate in the forms of advocacy self-government provided by law and are components of a holistic system with strong internal and external links of horizontal and vertical nature. issues of organization and activity of the bar in the manner prescribed by law.
