Abstract

This study aimed to recognize the concept of self at male and female players of motive challenges in national sportive teams in Jordan. To achieve the purpose of study, the main following question was asked by the study. The study sample consisted of (95) male and female sportive players of motive challenges in the national sportive teams in Jordan. Then Tennessee measurement for the concept of self was applied on the sample. The measurement consisted of (100) items measured (9) dimensions. The findings of the study revealed that: (1) The ranking of self-concept dimensions of self at male and female players of motive challenges in national sportive teams in Jordan respectively as follows: behavior, self-acceptance, identity, physical self, ethical self, critical self, personality self- and family self. (2). There were actual variations with statistical indicators in the personality self and the social self towards the team- games. Dimension while variations were in moral self and self- criticism towards the one- player games. (3). There were actual variations with statistical indicators in the personal self and the social self and self of family towards. Players with high educational level. (graduate and post- graduate). (4). There were actual variations with statistical indicators in the variable of number of years of experience in the game in the dimensions of moral self, self-criticism and self-acceptance towards players with more than (10) years’ experience in the game. The study recommended upon the (pare Olympic committee) should through its policies encourage the concept of positive self as male and female players.
