Abstract

A concept of methodological recommendations for estimating service life for designing, fabricating, and appraising safety of industrial equipment is proposed. The degree of wear, which characterizes the change in safety (strength) margins of components, parts, and units (assemblies) in the process of their operation, is taken as the generalized parameter. The concept solves the problem of estimating the full, residual, calculated (permissible) service life of industrial equipment that does not have backup (standby) components.
