Abstract
Domicile is a legal concept. A legal concept has to be understood in terms of the law of which it is a concept. The law which recognizes legal concepts is part of a legal system. The legal system is the result of an evolution in course of time. Domicile is the status or attribution of being permanently resident in a particular jurisdiction. A person can remain domiciled in a jurisdiction even after they have left it, if they have maintained sufficient links with that jurisdiction or have not displayed an intention to leave permanently.
