Abstract

We introduce the concept of a “phasenna,” which is a combination of a phaser (component providing a specified group delay versus frequency response) and an antenna. Such a device is intended for Radio Analog Signal Processing (RASP) applications where the processed signal is to be transmitted in a wireless fashion. A linear group delay (real-time spectrum analyzing) phasenna, obtained by altering a log-periodic dipole antenna (LPDA), is demonstrated to illustrate the concept.
