Abstract

Summary Heidbreder's order of concept dominance is re-examined by a technique effectively used to test form vs. color dominance in children. Results disconfirm Heidbreder's ordering of form and object concepts and question Osgood's hypothesis on the function of verbal mediators in establishing concept dominance.
