Abstract

O estudo incluiu 58 participantes.

Summary

Introduction

Domestic or intrafamily violence has been widely discussed in the news due to the epidemic proportions it has achieved in recent years. Violence and abuse against children and adolescents have been gaining ground in discussions on health, education and public policy worldwide. The Law No 8069/1990, known as the Statute of the Child and Adolescent (Brazil, 1990), focuses on the rights and obligations of all people regarding the care and protection of children and adolescents. The law tries to ensure a dignified, free and healthy life to citizens, intrafamily violence is a reality for many families. Adolescents and children are victims or spectators of aggression and constant abuse in an environment that should ensure them security, their homes. Living in a home with marital violence does not mean the child is a direct victim of this violence; it is a risk factor in their healthy development (Koller, 2000; D’affonseca; Williams, 2011)
