Abstract
We present four designs of perfect meta-absorbers (PMAs) by using concentric nanotube configurations. They are superimposed of Au (M) and SiO2 (I) layers on Si substrate with an Au mirror layer atop. PMAs are denoted as PMA-1, PMA-2, PMA-3, and PMA-4 for PMA with MIM, MIMIM, MIMIMIM, and MIMIMIMIM configurations, respectively. The absorption intensities of all PMAs are over 85%, in which PMA-1 shows 100% with an ultra-high Q-factor of 105 and PMA-2 exhibits the dual-resonance with perfect absorption and ultra-broadband characteristics. It is because the proposed PMAs are symmetrical configuration that the electromagnetic responses are the same at the different polarization states. Meanwhile, the proposed PMA-1 exhibits insensitive to the angle of incident light. Furthermore, PMA-1 shows the sensitivity of 3637 nm/RIU and figure of merit of 58 to the surrounding environment. These results show the proposed PMAs are suitable for the uses in the thermal energy harvesting, ultra-broadband absorber, and high-precision environmental sensor applications.
