Abstract

The concentrations of the two radical species formed in this reaction are always very small by comparison with those of the reactants and products. The radicals have quite different dependences of concentration on time and thus are not even approximately in equilibrium during reaction. The total rates of reaction agree well with those predicted by a simple HO mechanism. The perils involved when constant volume displacement pumps are used in flow reactors areexemplified.
