Abstract

Processes of radiogenic heat production from decaying radionuclides (uranium, thorium, and potassium) in sedimentary deposit are analyzed. The resulting heat field and the proportional contribution of radiogenic heat to the heat flux recorded on the surface of the sedimentary strata of the Makhachkala-Ternair geothermal field are evaluated.
