Abstract

The quality of drinking water is related to the state of the water supply networks, pollution, and contamination of drinking water with contaminants of both anthropogenic and natural origin. Water samples were collected from 22 different waterworks in Kut, Iraq, and heavy metal concentrations (Pb, Ni, and Zn) were analyzed. In various parts of the city, 22 sampling sites were pre-defined. The results indicated that heavy metal concentrations in water samples did not surpass WHO guidelines (World Health Organization).
