Abstract
In previous studies, the complex europium (III) thenoyltrifluoroacetonate has demostrated enhanced fluorescence properties in select media with respect to the inorganic salt europium(III) chloride. These media include sol-gel-derived solutions as well as solid-state silica, acrylate organically modified silicate (ormosil), and epoxide ormosil hosts. Concentration effects in these systems have been studied to promote a greater understanding of dopant-matrix and dopant-dopant interactions in these solid-state systems.
