Abstract

The regular associated solution model has been used to estimate the concentration of Ag 3Sb type clusters in AgSb liquid alloys at 1250 K. The equilibrium constant for the dissociation of clusters and pairwire interaction energies between unassociated atoms and clusters have been evaluated using the concentrations of clusters. These enable estimation of thermodynamic and microscopic properties of the alloys at any desired concentration. The analysis suggests that the alloy is more ordered in Ag-rich region. The alloy behaves like a segregating system in Sb-rich end.
