Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide a descriptive analysis of the use of computers for instruction in the public schools of a large, urban area, namely New York City; and to compare this with the public schools of a suburban area, namely Westchester County. Particular emphasis has been placed on the availability of hardware, the nature of the software used for instruction, and the perceived progress or problems encountered in integrating computers into the curriculum.
