Abstract

of the vacuum chamber. For an average lifetime of the excited atoms of I Dsec the correction taking into account possible departure in the conditions of our experiment was about 6%. Since, according to [5] for the majority of states we studied of Irl, the radiative lifetimes do not exceed i00 ns2c and only for two states z6D~ 9/2 reach 0.5-0.8 ~sec, accounting for the above-given correction turns out to be unnecessary. The single state z~G~s/2, the lifetime of which mayexceed 1 ~sec, was not studied in this work or in [5].
