Abstract
Eurocode 3 provides a procedure for the determination of the bolt-row force distribution in end plate connections. This procedure is a main component in the determination of the design moment resistance (M Rd ). In principle, it is intended for both hand and computer calculations. For computer calculations, however, an alternative method leads to a more efficient algorithm. This paper describes such an alternative method, which is based upon plastic analysis of the joint and is fully compatible with Eurocode 3.
