Abstract

Robust control system analysis and design is based on an description, called a linear fractional transformation (LFT), which separates the uncertain (or varying) part of the system from the nominal system. System uncertainties to be represented in LFT form include both parametric and non-parametric uncertainties for many practical problems. LFT formulation for these uncertainty systems involves: formulation of a linear parameter varying model, construction of a low-order parametric LFT model, and validation of a mixed model with respect to measurement data. This paper presents an F-16 aircraft example problem that illustrates the development of a validated mixed model for this vehicle.
