Abstract

In this work, the effect of different computer-aided approaches on the simulation of an Ultra-Wideband (UWB) bandpass filter is analysed. A UWB bandpass filter with Electronic Band Gap (EBG) resonators is designed by utilizing Advanced Design System simulation technique and the results are compared with the various simulation techniques. The UWB bandpass filter characteristics are analyzed using the full-wave Electromagnetic (EM) algorithm on the insertion loss and other characteristics of the UWB bandpass filter are presented. The study shows that the best results are obtained with the ADS simulation technique compared to HFSS and CST studio techniques.
