Abstract

Computer vision has made substantial progress during the past several decades, and it has covered many areas including healthcare. This chapter introduces deep learning techniques for healthcare with an emphasis on the discussion of deep learning in computer vision, the authors describe how these techniques can impact a few key areas of health precaution that include wearing a mask and respecting social distancing to reduce the spread of airborne epidemics. This chapter provides an overview of deep learning techniques that can detect social distancing and mask wearing through modern surveillance technologies, including drones and surveillance cameras.
