Abstract

Viruses are the largest class, but by no means the only examples, of malicious software. This chapter will explore the many varieties of viruses, concentrating on the major classes, as well as related malicious programs. It will also explain and examine the basic means of detecting viruses, and preventing them from infecting your computer.
