Abstract

The development of a system called the Medical Data Processing and Automatic Diagnosis System (MEDPAD) for the acquisition, processing and storage of ECG and other biological signals like Blood Pressure (direct and indirect). Blood P2O, Blood PCO2, Blood pH, Respiration rate etc is described. Such a system is under development at the LR DE, Bangalore. The technical characteristics of the software for the recognition and analysis of parameters using on-line (arrhythmia analysis) and off-line (morphological analysis of ECG) techniques have been described. The software includes methods for data smoothing, base line straightening, data reduction, waveform on-set and off-set detection and recognition, arrhythmia analysis, measurement of wave amplitudes/widths/delays/depression elevations, recognition of the shape of the waveforms and diagnostic subroutine using medical logic.
