Abstract

The last stage of putting into operation of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) was completed in February 1999. In this connection it is necessary to train specialists in the field of GMDSS communication. The existing software for training of the GMDSS operators is designed for foreign equipment using the English language. This paper's goal is to develop and create a new software for the training of GMDSS operators using the Russian language. The initial design results and projects of this computer software for operator training are presented.
