Abstract

The spectral and polarization characteristics of the planar channeling radiation of 900 MeV electrons in a diamond have been simulated using the binary collision model. The dependence of Stokes' parameters on the photon frequency and the radiation spectra for the typical electron trajectories have been studied. The position of the maxima in the planar channeling radiation spectra correlates well with those in the degree of the linear polarization. For the (110) planar channeling the satisfactory agreement of the simulation results and the experimental data both for the radiation spectrum and the degree of linear polarization is obtained. For the (111) molecular planar channeling the strong and sharp two peaks are found in the computer simulation. The thickness dependence of the shape of the radiation spectrum for the molecular planar channeling is observed in the computer experiment and comparison with the experimental data is proveded.
