Abstract

Abstract The resistivity-temperature characteristics around the superconducting temperature (Tc) in bulk YBa2Cu3Ox ceramics, associated with the resistivity decreasing in two steps from the normal conducting state to the superconducting state, have been investigated in terms of Ag addition to explore the weak link problem in the materials. By using computer simulation techniques the resistivity-temperature characteristics were evaluated in relation to two kinds of weak links and the effect of Ag addition on their behavior was examined. The results indicate that the transition temperature, Tg c of the bulk resistivity, ρg associated with the weak links at the grain boundary increases by Ag addition.
