Abstract

In recent years, the lightweight design requirements for heavy vehicles are increasingly high. Under the premise of meeting the safety performance requirements, the lightweight products with stable quality will be more influential in the competition. The wheel hub is a very important part of the axle of heavy truck. The traditional structure design uses more materials, resulting in the structure mass is larger, very bulky. Axle hub of a heavy vehicle original structure 33kg, the structure is relatively heavy. We optimized its structure and reduced its weight by 9kg after optimization. In this paper, the finite element software ansys is used to analyze the optimized structure of a heavy vehicle hub, and the yield limit of the optimized structure is greatly improved. The research on lightweight design of wheel hub is provided as reference.
