Abstract

Nonlinear finite-element analysis of concrete structures is an advanced research and design tool. Its potentials are demonstrated on the computer program SBETA for analysis of reinforced concrete structures in plane stress state. The program is based on the nonlinear elastic and smeared crack constitutive model, and is equipped with an efficient graphical post-processing for representation of crack patterns and failure modes. Applications showing a shear failure mode, pull-out tests and a case from consulting practice are presented. (A)
