Abstract

From the stochastic point of view, a 2-dimensional computer model is proposed to explain the time-dependent behaviour of rock under uniaxial loading. The model is divided into elements to allow consideration of the internal failure sequence together with the macroscopic behaviour. In the calculation the FEM technique is used and the results obtained are compared with experimental data for creep, relaxation and constant strain rate tests.
