Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to simulate the geometric modeling of the multilayer interlocked woven structures in three dimensions (3D) using computer aided design (CAD). The simulation of yarn was composed of fibers assembled together for presenting the structures. Two and three layers for multilayer interlocked woven structures were simulated with a filament assemble model and compared with yarn path of single line model. The result showed that the new model developed was more realistic than the previous works. The strength of these models is required as an input to many computational methods such as simulation the tensile/bending properties of fabrics structure or composite parts, forecasting the fiber volume fraction of fabrics.
