Abstract
Calibration charts for cobalt 60, giving treatment times for field sizes from 4 × 4 cem to 32 × 32 cm have been produced on a computer. After the basic data required are collected by a large number of measurements for different field sizes and depths, the calibration charts can be generated from a single calibration point and are available for 5-mm depth dose, air exposure in roentgens, and tumor dose in increments of 1 cm. Use of these charts makes calculation of equivalent square fields and depth dose interpolation unnecessary. Methods for application to any cobalt therapy unit are discussed.
