Abstract
The need for organisations to build plans and policies to counter technologically-assisted crime has reached critical status. Digital criminals do not need to steal your credit card details or go through your bins to obtain the data they need to defraud you: they can just go to your company system. People fear elite Russian hackers who bounce their attacks off many servers to hide their tracks, and make it virtually impossible to detect them until it is too late. But, in actual fact, the most prevalent threats come from within an organisation. In this article the author looks at what IT managers should do to get the edge over felonious access.
