Abstract

A computer control system developed for a fungal type SCP fermentation process, called Pekilo-process, is introduced. The process and related important variables for supervision and control are briefly described. The computer system has been realized as a multicomputer system employing a central computer and substations. The software structure and task division between the master and sub-computers are considered generally. The calculation software includes some special features, such as application of estimation techniques, which are treated in more detail. Economic justification of the system is discussed.
