Abstract
Purpose: In current IMRT treatment planning, beam energies and orientations are chosen empirically. Several trial-and-error attempts are often needed to find a suitable set of beam parameters. The aim of this work is to develop a computer-assisted technique for beam energy and beam orientation selection in IMRT.
