Abstract

A new Hungarian power plant is being equipped with a hierarchical system of digital computers. As a first step of computer control, the supervisory computer is planned to perform two kinds of unit control functions:1)Assessing the performance of the unit operator;2)Indicating the contamination of the technological equipment..Both functions are carried out through the evaluation of the unit efficiency. The actual efficiency is computed from time to time, and its average and vari-ance are modelled as functions of the disturbing variables x, which describe the operatihg conditions. The performance of the operator is assessed by comparing the actual efficiency to the respective average, the measure of the performance being ηact-η¯(x¯)ση(x¯)The operators are planned to be paid after their performance, thus a saturating increase of the efficiency can be expected. On the other hand, the contamination will be judged by the variation in time of the upper limit η¯+σn of the dispersion-band.Both the average and the variance models are quadratic and are computed from measured data by means of an adaptive recursive version of the least squares method.
