Abstract

Microscopic or endoscopic skull base surgery is technically demanding and its outcome has a great impact on a patient's quality of life. Over more than 10 years, we have developed our own navigation system in Bern, implementing new features, including integration of augmented reality in our own MARVIN platform and integration of a small camera in our microscope. This clinically applied technological research was complemented by a series of patients who were treated. Additionally, in the last 2 years an otologic robot was constructed for minimal invasive cochlear implantation and tested on artifical temporal bone.
