Abstract

This paper presents the results of a protective device coordination study of the 1984 Big Rivers Electric Corporation system using a computer-aided approach. The paper illustrates the procedure followed and how a computer program is used to aid the relay engineer. It is intended to demonstrate how computer results may be analyzed using system response mapping and how this analysis is used to increase system protection.
