Abstract

Computed tomography (CT)-guided celiac plexus block (CPB) is an effective intervention for pain management in the setting of pancreatic cancer. In these cases, nurses within the interventional radiology department are essential in all aspects of patient care before, during, and after the procedure. This article describes the treatment and management of a patient with stage IV metastatic pancreatic cancer. This article will discuss background information, relevant anatomy, indications, complications, contradictions, and nursing considerations for CT-guided CPB.
