Abstract

Theoretical line shapes, computed by diagonalizing numerically the semiclassical time-independent Hamiltonian in the rotating frame of reference, are compared with ODR measurements in the state 72P3/2 of 133Cs in a strong magnetic field, which cannot be explained simply by single quantum transitions. Good agreement is obtained between experiment and theory. The computer program was applied to the calculation of multiple quantum transitions.
