Abstract

With the advancement of mobile computing technologies computation intensive mobile applications are also thriving in a rapid pace. Existing cloud and cloudlet based solutions are not best suited for these applications in terms of response time and cost. A rampant technology to execute these applications is mobile device cloud, where the compute intensive part of the applications are migrated to nearby powerful mobile devices for offloaded execution. In this paper, we propose an offloading decision making algorithm to select the appropriate devices for offloading. The emulation results of the proposed algorithm show that, our algorithm outperforms the relevant approaches in terms of application execution time.
