Abstract

The focusing capability of a Gabor lens look very promising, relatively little experimental research has been performed to test and develop this device for practical use. Since there is little published work on the properties of Gabor lens, the present computational work has been concentrated on studying such lens. The magnetic and the electrostatic fields constituting Gabor lens have been represented by the rectangular field model and the Glaser field model. The focal length of the lens has been computed with the aid of the electron beam trajectory under zero magnification conditions. The present work has paved the path for new investigation on Gabor lens.
