Abstract

An algorithm of computing Rayleigh waves in layered anisotropic elastic media with an arbitrary position of the boundary plane and an arbitrary direction of propagation is considered. With the help of translation operators, the problem is reduced to the construction of an impedance operator for a homogeneous anisotropic half-space and to the construction with its help the Rayleigh waves in the half-space. Computations of the velocities of Rayleigh waves and their polarization for different anisotropic media are given for the case of a homogeneous half-space at the end of the paper.
