Abstract

Summary form only given. Xenos is an integrated set of 2D/3D finite-element programs that address the full range of design tasks for electron and X-ray devices. Capabilities include calculations of applied electric and magnetic fields, relativistic electron gun design with self-consistent beam forces, Monte Carlo simulations of electron and photon transport in matter and heating effects in surrounding structures. This talk reviews innovations in the 3D codes and concludes with application examples illustrating X-ray generation by intense electron beams.
