Abstract
Pityriasis lichenoides chronica (PLC) is a rare idiopathic skin disorder that is characterised by scaly, pink papules mainly on the trunks and limbs. The etiology and immunological pathways of the disease are yet unknown. In this study we have attempted to study gene expression, gene regulatory networks and studied the comorbidities as a systems biology approach which may lead us to the identification of pathways of immunomodulation involved in PLC and its comorbidities, thereby facilitating therapeutic intervention. We identified gene list using various datasets. We also constructed a network between Transcription Factors and Genes. We also used pathway analysis tools. The insight derived from the study was that PLC and Psoriasis are related genotypically and phenotypically. With all these similarities there are also huge differences in molecular mechanisms and predisposing factors and so different courses have to be adopted for the management and therapy of these dermatological disorders.
