Abstract
A computational method for valve dynamics is discussed. The method consists of a hydraulic part and the equations describing valve dynamics. These are coupled together using a boundary condition in the hydraulic model. Some important parameters for the boundary condition are determined experimentally. The hydraulic equations are solved using the method of characteristics. Some example calculations for a boiling water reactor are presented.
