Abstract

Abstract To find the behavior of heat transfer and thermal management of novel type heat sink fins, a CFD analysis has been carried out. Available heat sink designs are studied for the thermal management of electronic devices, concentric solar devices, LED’s, etc. Electronic devices emerged in last decade and thus cooling of electronic devices with the efficient solution is still immature. In this study, corrugated type fins are introduced and analyzed to identify best thermal cooling performance. Three types of corrugated heat sink fins were designed and analyzed using ANSYS. An aluminum material was chosen to find local and global heat transfer coefficient. A comparative study was also carried out to find out an efficient design out of three. Keywords: CFD, heatsink modeling, natural convection, pinfins, thermal management Cite this Article Anurag Kumar, Manish Singhal, Sachendra.
