Abstract

AbstractAn experimental and computational bungee‐drop project for use in an integrated engineering curriculum is described. The project combines aspects of physics, computer programming, calculus, and engineering mechanics to model and analyze experiments. The prediction of a computer model is compared to the experimental results and the students find the sources of error. This project was used successfully in a university‐wide freshman engineering course that introduces computer programming and where example problems were taken from all engineering departments. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
