Abstract

Prediction of recession time and runoff volumes is useful in the design of an irrigation system to evaluate the performance of the given system. Simplified computations of recession were lacking until Stelkoff developed an algebraic computation model for surface irrigation. The model is simple, inexpensive, and sufficient for preliminary investigations. This paper presents another numerical technique for computation of recession and runoff integrals which provides similar accuracy with less computation time and is thus less expense.
